Asset Additions Report

A dedicated report has been added to simplify reconciling asset additions by month, quarter, or year using either the Placed in Service Date or Acquisition Date.

Web-based Product Help

Online Help is now available across all Sage Fixed Assets products, including Depreciation and Tracking. An internet connection is required to access this feature. If you're offline or a connection is unavailable, the in-product Help system remains accessible.

Run Batch Reports

After selecting a location to save your report batch, the selected path is saved as the default path for subsequent batch runs. A separate path is saved for each company.

SFA Ally: Powered by Sage GenAI

Ally now uses Sage GenAI. This update enables improved responses, source links, and options for users to provide feedback on the results.

Sage University Learning Resources

The Sage University website has a fresh new look with additional resources, including more training options and product videos. Whether you are new to Sage Fixed Assets or need a refresher, take advantage of the free learning resources at Getting Started with Sage Fixed Assets.

Sage Fixed Assets Ally (Beta) Enhancements

Sage Fixed Assets Ally is even more user-friendly. The updated "Chat with a Human" link in the lower-left corner makes it easier to contact Sage Support. In the upper-right corner, the "Copy Chat" and "New Chat" buttons streamline your chat experience within Ally, while the "Help" (?) icon offers updated information about Ally.

Last Asset Group defaults on launch

To ensure the last group in the last company that you were using opens after opening the application, check the Activate Organization on Startup checkbox on the Preferences dialog.

Revamped Sage Fixed Assets—CIP module

The revamped CIP module serves as the CapEx Manager for your fixed assets, allowing you to create assets in three simple steps. Key improvements include a refreshed design that aligns with the Depreciation and Tracking layout, a Project List grid with similar functions as the Asset List, enhanced security features, and many other updates to streamline your workflow. Sage Fixed Assets Ally is an AI chatbot integrated into Sage Fixed Assets. Get the answers you need by entering your question in the chat box conveniently located on the Asset List.

Sage Resource Centre

Conveniently navigate to the Resource Centre directly from the Assistance Center and Help menu in Sage Fixed Assets. The Resource Centre is your one-stop shop for all things related to Sage Fixed Assets where you can access the Community Hub (formerly Sage City/Online Community), Knowledgebase, and more.

Submit a Product Idea

Viewing and submitting product ideas has gotten easier with a new platform. Go to Help >> Submit a Product Idea to view, submit, and vote on ideas.

Asset Maintenance

Group Name added to Batch Report export file name

The selected group name is included in the file name when exporting Batch Reports.

My Views

Save multiple custom Asset List views with the My Views feature. Choose from the list of custom views to apply to the Asset List in an open Sage Fixed Assets organization.

Integration with Sage Intacct Accounts Payable module (subscription plans)

Create assets in Sage Fixed Assets—Depreciation from the Accounts Payable (AP) module in Sage Intacct.

Utility Reports

The Asset History Event report can now be exported directly to Excel.

Asset Created history event for assets from Sage Fixed Assets—CIP

Sage Fixed Assets—CIP is shown as the source on the History tab in Asset Detail and on the Asset History Event report for assets sent to Sage Fixed Assets—Depreciation from Sage Fixed Assets—CIP.

Last Scan Date Feature (Sage Fixed Assets—Tracking)

The Last Inventory Date Field displays the last scan date for an asset during an inventory. The Last Inventory Date Field is updated during each inventory for any scanned asset.

Import asset disposal information (subscription plans)

Assets can now be disposed by importing disposal information in Custom Import.

Direct integration with Sage Intacct's General Ledger (subscription plans)

The Sage Intacct Posting Link has been added to post journal entries directly from Sage Fixed Assets into Sage Intacct General Ledger.

Asset List: Display totals on numeric columns

Totals can now be displayed directly in the Asset List for any numeric column. For more information see Totaling Numeric Columns in the Asset List.

Asset List: Export to Excel enhancements

• Column headers are now bold with shading.
• To keep header in view, Row 1 is now frozen.
• Numeric fields are totaled using an Automatic Excel® formula.

Batch Reports: Reorder reports in a batch

Reports in a batch can easily be reordered by using the Reorder Reports buttons or drag and drop.

Disposals: Calculation simplified for Depreciation This Run

The correct depreciation this run amount is automatically calculated on disposed assets eliminating the need to dispose assets before calculating depreciation for the disposal period.

Browse for Folder window usability enhancements

In addition to navigating the folder structure, the Browse for Folder window now allows users to copy/paste the folder path, see the current file path, and access pinned locations. This is available in the following areas:

One-step product registration and activation

Registration and activation can now be completed in one-step by simply using your Customer Number and Serial Number.

Import asset disposal information (subscription plans)

Assets can now be disposed by importing disposal information in Custom Import.

Book Column Resizing

The width of book columns in the Main Tab of Asset Detail can be adjusted to very narrow or very wide. To restore the original width of all book columns a resize icon has been added.

Report Enhancements

The Asset Group Name appears in the right side of the header for the Depreciation Expense Report, Disposal Report, and Transfer Report.

Related Product Updates

Sage Fixed Assets CIP: The Project Name field length increases from 20 to 32 characters.

Group Manager

Multiple groups can now be selected in Group Manager and deleted at the same time. This will save time when getting rid of groups that are no longer in use.

Batch Reports

A Run Batch dialog will now display when Batch Reports are run. The dialog will offer the options of sending the reports to a printer or exporting reports to two Microsoft Excel file types.

Sage Intacct GL Posting Link

A new link has been added to Sage Fixed Assets for creating and posting depreciation expense from your Sage Fixed Assets application to Sage Intacct.

Updated look

Sage Fixed Assets’ user interface has received a modest modern facelift. Clean and modernized improvements to the overall look of the product are obvious upon opening. New control over visuals on the assets list row and font size aid in working efficiently and accurately with your assets.

Sage Fixed Assets Scanner mobile application

If you are using Sage Fixed Assets—Tracking, try our new mobile application, Sage Fixed Assets Scanner. This application allows you to upload a prepared inventory file from Sage Fixed Assets—Tracking to Microsoft OneDrive. You can then share the default inventory folder with other users so that they can use Sage Fixed Assets Scanner on their mobile devices to download the inventory file. This allows employees working outside of the office to add and update inventory, which you can later sync with Sage Fixed Assets—Tracking via inventory reconciliation.

To learn more about Sage Fixed Assets Scanner, open the online Help in Sage Fixed Assets—Tracking and then enter Mobile application on the Index tab.

Image Manager updates

The new Image Manager dialog allows you to drag and drop image and PDF files to automatically add them to Sage Fixed Assets. It also contains a centralized list of image files, where you manage your images and can view details about the assets linked to each image. Select assets on the Asset List window and then open the Image Manage dialog to link multiple assets to an image.

You can now include the following fields in Asset Detail by customizing the Asset List:

• Depreciation This Run
• Prior Through Date

Copy Custom Reports

When copying organization setup to another organization, select which customized reports you want to copy instead of copying all of them. Expand the plus sign next to Customized Reports on the Copy Setup window to select the reports.

Customize the Asset List

With the new Customize Asset List feature, you select the fields you want displayed on Asset List. You can now display book fields (for example, Acquisition Value, Depreciation method, Current Thru Date) for all the assets on Asset List. In addition, you can easily remove and reorder fields that are displayed.

Combined Installation of Sage Fixed Assets Products

When you install Sage Fixed Assets, you now have access to all products; Depreciation, Tracking, and CIP. Each unpurchased product comes with a free 30-day trial period so feel free to open and explore them.

Transfer Report with From and To dates

Now you can choose your own custom date ranges for the Transfer report. Based on the From and To dates you enter, the Transfer report will display the transfers that occurred during the given date range.

Easier Import to Sage 100 Premium ERP

You can now directly import the depreciation transactions from Sage Fixed Assets to Sage 100 Premium ERP without editing the export file. For more information, download the Links Guide from Help/Product Documents/(version)/Links Guide.

Submit or View Product Ideas

Submit and view product ideas through the new Sage City Ideas page. This platform allows you to view and vote on ideas submitted by other users, and to contribute your own ideas on what features you would like to see in the product. In Sage Fixed Assets, go to Help/Submit a Product Idea.

Sage Advisor Update

Starting with the 2017.1 release, it will be easier than ever to stay current with your Sage Fixed Assets products. Sage Advisor Update will let you know when a product update is available. If you are not on the latest version, you will be able to directly download and install it using Sage Advisor Update.
