System Number

The application assigns a unique System Number to each asset you enter into the system. The System Number initially begins with 1. However, if you have more than one organization, you might want your assets' System Numbers to remain unique. To ensure unique System Numbers, start the System Numbers for additional organizations at a much higher level. You can set this in the New Organization or Edit Organization window.

For example, Organization #1 might start at 1, Organization #2 at 5001, and Organization #3 at 10,001. Always leave plenty of room for growth. The highest available system number is 999,999; therefore, the starting System Number affects the number of assets an organization can enter into the system. For example, if you entered a starting system number of 300,000, you could not create more than 700,000 assets for the organization.

Important! You cannot change the starting System Number after you begin adding assets.
