Cutting, Copying, and Pasting
You can cut, copy, and paste data just as you can in any other Windows-based program. Follow the guidelines provided below to cut, copy, and paste data.
When you cut data, the system removes the highlighted data from its current location and places it on the Windows Clipboard. You can paste the data into as many other locations as you like; the data remains on the Clipboard until you perform another Cut or Copy command. Cut data as follows.
- Highlight the data you want to cut.
- Select Edit/Cut from the menu bar or press Ctrl+X. The system removes the highlighted data and places it on the Clipboard.
When you copy data, the system places a copy of highlighted data on the Windows Clipboard, leaving the original data in place. You can paste the data into as many other locations as you like; the data remains on the Clipboard until you perform another Cut or Copy command. Copy data as follows:
- Highlight the data you want to copy.
- Select Edit/Copy from the menu bar or press Ctrl+C. The system copies the highlighted data and places it on the Clipboard.
When you paste data, the system pastes data from the Windows Clipboard into a new location. Paste data as follows:
- Place the cursor where you want to paste the data.
- Select Edit/Paste from the menu bar or press Ctrl+V. The system pastes the contents of the Clipboard into the cursor location.
