Switching to Application Authentication
You have two options for how the application handles the rules regarding your user name and password:
- Windows Authentication (recommended)
- Application Authentication.
We recommend using Windows Authentication because your network administrator can establish stricter password rules, and therefore your data is more secure. For more information, see Selecting a Security Mode.
However, if you currently are using Windows Authentication and you want to switch to Application Authentication, follow the steps below.
To switch to Application Authentication
- Select File/Password Security/Supervisor from the menu bar. The Supervisor window appears.
- In the Security Mode field, select the Application Authentication option.
- Select OK to close the Supervisor window.
Note: When switching from Windows Authentication to Application Authentication, the user names remain the same and the Sage Fixed Assets system password is set to the user name.
