Calculating Depreciation for a Specific Period
How do I depreciate for a specific period?
- Run depreciation for the period (month, quarter, or year) before the target period.
- Run depreciation for the target period.
Here is an example:
You last ran depreciation for August of this year. Then you run depreciation for September. On the September Depreciation Expense report, the Depreciation This Run amount for the asset is one month's worth of depreciation.
(In this example, we assume the asset is still taking depreciation and is not taking adjustments due to adjustment conventions.)
