Overdepreciated Assets
If you entered a Beginning Date and a Beginning Depreciation amount that is more than the system calculates to be correct, the asset is considered overdepreciated. The application continues to correctly calculate as much depreciation as you would be entitled to for that asset for each subsequent year. The system stops calculating depreciation when the asset is fully depreciated, thereby actually taking less depreciation than you would otherwise be entitled to in the last year of the asset's life. This is because you took that depreciation earlier in the asset's life than you should have.
